Way back in April, I was contacted by the PR team at Aveeno, to see if I’d like to try out some products from their Positively Radiant Range— & not being one to pass up free beauty products, I happily obliged! My skin can be sensitive sometimes, so the fact they use products from nature, was a plus.
I picked them up from the Post Office when we arrived back from our honeymoon in May and my beloved Tea Tree Facial Wash from Superdrug had run out (perfect timing!), which meant I got stuck in straight away & didn’t take any photos, so forgive me for the stock images!
Daily Skin Brightening Moisturiser SPF 15
Price: £9.99 RRP
Manufacturers Description:
- Clinically proven to even skin tone and texture
- Light Diffusers instantly boost skin’s natural radiance
- Contains SPF 15 to help protect against the harmful effect of the sun’s rays
- Light texture
- Will not clog pores
- Suitable for sensitive skin
- Paraben-free
My Thoughts: This moisturiser is so rich & creamy– a little pump from this bottle goes a long way. I was a little hesitant at first, as my skin can be very oily sometimes. I’d only just found a really light moisturiser that was perfect for my skin and I didn’t want to upset it— but I tried it anyway! I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it absorbed into my skin & it made (liquid) foundation easy to apply. It leaves your skin slightly tacky though, so if you’re planning on putting loose powdered make-up on after, try something else, otherwise you’ll look cakey.
I’ve also turned to this moisturiser during pregnancy when my normal moisturiser just isn’t doing the job of soothing my now sometimes dry and dull skin! The teeny-tiny pearlescent particles have been great at illuminating my skin slightly too and it’s good to know I’m being protected with SPF 15!
Re-purchase? If my skin stays like this after pregnancy, then yes! I still have loads of product left after months of using it though, so that won’t be needed for a while. It’s also a lovely size to take on holiday!
I’m also looking forward to trying some of their baby range when little one is here. My goddaughter’s mum used some of the moisturiser on her when she had cradle cap, and it cleared it up a treat!
Triple Boost Serum
Price: £11.99 RRP
Manufacturers Description:
- Evening out skin tone and texture
- Visibly diminishing the appearance of brown spots
- Hydrating the skin
- This unique formula also contains vitamins and antioxidants, known to help fight free radicals, to keep skin looking younger
- Will not clog pores
- Suitable for sensitive skin
- Paraben-free
My Thoughts: I’ve never really used serum before, but now that I’m married with a baby on the way, I’ll be middle-aged before you know it, so I thought maybe I should get ahead of the game and start thinking prevention, rather than cure! This serum is super-light and easily absorbed, but I have’t noticed any difference in my skin.
Re-purchase? No. I think it’s a good price for serum, but I just don’t get it (or any other skin serum for that matter) as the moisturiser does all the things that this product claims to do, too. Perhaps I’ll wait until I have brown spots, and then we’ll see…!
Eye Brightening Cream
Price: £9.99 RRP
Manufacturers Description:
- Clinically proven to visibly improve the appearance of dark circles and puffiness
- Light Diffusers instantly boost skin’s natural radiance
- Revitalises skin around the eye area
- Fast absorbing and light texture
- Will not clog pores
- Suitable for sensitive skin
My Thoughts: Eye-cream is again not something I’ve really used before. Well, not religiously, anyway. Perhaps it’s coincidence, but since using this though, I’ve been using my under-eye concealer less. As for puffiness, well I luckily don’t suffer from that yet— but when I’m having sleepless nights filled with breastfeeding and nappy changing, I’m sure this will become a staple product! I keep mine in the fridge, so it’s nice and refreshing on tired eyes.
Re-purchase? It’s a nice product, but I think I could find another eye cream or gel for a better price.
Daily Exfoliating Cleanser
Price: £5.99 RRP
Manufacturers Description:
- Gently exfoliates while cleansing
- Skin is left feeling soft, smooth and even
- Will not clog pores
- Suitable for sensitive skin
- Paraben-free
My Thoughts: I love an exfoliator. I like the particles to be quite big though, so this scrub didn’t really float my boat in that respect, however it’s great at removing make-up and leaving my skin feeling moisturised— I just prefer my exfoliator to be more fruity and fresh, and my moisturiser to do the moisturising!
Re-purchase? No. The product is lovely and does what it says on the tin, but it’s just not zingy and fresh enough for me!
