Fashion Week, I loathe you. You’re clogging up my Google Reader!

If like me, high-end fashion is not your thing, think of your favourite things & turn it into your very own Week! These are some of my favs:

Cupcake Week— that was actually 14th-19th September, but cupcakes should be appreciated all the time, so I say extend it & bake away! Devour the prettiest, brightest cupcakes, every day! Yum. Calories, shmalories.

Pretty In Pink Week— wear it, make it, bake it, eat it, paint it, create it, knit it, sew it, draw with it, look at it, like it, love it!

Glitter Appreciation Week— you can never have too much glitter and/or sequins! Wear it every day, with pride.

Slumber Party Week— whack out the PJ’s, grab your friends, turn up the stereo & party all week, in the best possible way— with midnight feasts, movies, popcorn & girly chats!

Gig Week— see a different band / artist from a completely different genre than you’re used to listening to, every day of the week. Open up your horizons! Or, follow a band on tour for the week. Make posters & banners. Get yourself known! (Obviously, this isn’t so viable if you’re going to a death metal show.)

Vlogging Week— if you’ve never made one before, now is the time to start documenting your life in video!

YouTube Beauty Tutorials Week— follow your fav artists & recreate one of their looks each day.

You can have a National Week, for absolutely anything. What would you choose?

Haha, I’m glad I’m not the only one a little tired of NYFW and LFW posts in my Google Reader! I think my favourite week would be the slumber party one, cheesy movies and pizza every night!

It’s like every. single. post. is about “I like this bit of this collection. The End.” It’d be better if people saved it for one big post at the end of it all, rather than several posts a day! Grrr.

      <3 cheesy movies.

Awesome! (as you know) I don’t really give a shit about FW. Cupcake week is WAY better, but I had no idea it was happening! Disappointing, but still, every week should be cupcake week.

There should be a wear what ever you want week. Participation would have to be mandatory so no one gets snarky. :]

I think it might have been a UK thing, but yeah, every week = cupcake week!
Loving Wear Whatever You Want Week! I guess it’d probably only work if you had to wear some kind of uniform to work, as at all other times, I’d hope people were wearing what they wanted anyway! :)

But that’s the thing. Even if you don’t have a uniform at work there’s usually a corporate expectation of a sort of uniform. On Wear Whatever You Want Week you should expect to see workplaces full of tutus, board shorts, jeans, and boots. I doubt many people wear what they really like on a day to day basis. Even on the weekends.

National No Door Slamming Week. Pet peeve to the absolute max.

I have no feelings on Fashion Week(s) as I’ve been quite lucky to have limited internet acess except for the vital things, so I’ve been missing it all. Thankfully.

And “Youtube Beauty Tutorials” week would be an excellent idea – I would be able to recommend some drag queen tutorials purely for their make up application and not for just the wonder behind it. It’s quite amazing to watch a man transform into a woman.

Haha, wicked. My pet peeve is noisy eaters, so if I could ban all of them for a week, it’d be ace!

Do share these tutorials! I’m intrigued.

My favourite at the moment is http://www.youtube.com/user/BlancheBabcock and you can watch his 6-part tutorial for the “fiery look” which takes him from bare skin to completely made up. It’s amazing how quickly an hour goes when you watch it.
