As 2008 is coming to an end, I was going to make a huge post about my goals for 2009, but I’ve found something even better! Well, actually Kim at Cupcakes & Mace did. Project Day Zero. Never heard of it before? Me neither. The idea is, you set yourself 101 measurable goals to meet in 1001 days. There are people out there that have already completed theirs, so it’s been going for some time now, but of course, it’s never too late to join up! These people at Livejournal have already been going for a year, so head over there for some inspirational ideas.

I’m a big fan of lists, organisation & goal-setting, so I’m definitely going to compile some objectives of my own. 1001 days is a long time to keep a project going, but these are things that I would (hopefully!) be doing anyway. Here goes nothing:

1 Move out of the family home & in somewhere with Ashley
2 Get out of my retail job
3 Be less frivolous with money & think about purchases before acting impulsively
4 Re-visit Paris with Ashley
5 Buy a new car (& attempt to drive on the motorway :> )
6 Commit to a 365 project for the full 365 days
7 Drop a dress size; get in shape through exercise & healthy eating
8 Receive regular paid photography and/or writing work
9 Publish a mini photobook
10 Develop my French / German speaking
11 Enroll on a Make-Up For Theatre course
12 Go on holiday in the Caribbean
13 Expand my printed portfolio
14 Take part in the Race For Life 2009
15 Get engaged
16 Attend some dance aerobics classes
17 Visit the Maldives
18 Re-visit New York
19 Blog frequently
20 Procrastinate less & complete at least 75% of the things on my daily to-do lists
21 Lose at least a stone & maintain that weight (give or take 4 pounds), for at least 6 months
22 Photograph for “What I Wore” at least twice a week
23 Watch every single episode of Sex & The City
24 Re-use tote shoppers at the supermarket etc & stop using plastic bags, completely
25 Save at least £50 a month

& of course I’ll add more to-do’s when the idea crosses my path! Look out for monthly updates & see how well (or, most likely, not so well) I’m doing.

Do you have any goals for the future? If you’re taking part in this project too, please feel free to leave a link to your list!

I’m going to be participating too, but I need to make my list first, and it’s not filling up that quickly!

Hey, I’m so happy that so many people are picking this project up. I love seeing everyone’s lists and goals!

I’m back from holiday now so I can finally work on getting my list sorted, I have about 50 so far.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of yours.

I’m not taking part in the 101 in 1001, but I have posted my resolutions for this year in an attempt to keep to them – I figure the more people that know about them, the more likely I feel like I have to stick to them!

My main goal of 2009 is to breastfeed my daughter. She is due January 23rd ^_^

@Desiree Fawn: Aw! That’s got to be the best resolution of all. You must be so excited to be having a baby! Is she your first?

@Hayley: My sentiments exactly! I kind of want people to be bugging me & asking how they’re going, constantly!

@Ms Constantine: Thanks for bringing it to my attention! I think it’s a great idea. I’m kind of struggling to make a list of 101 things (that aren’t really small, silly goals), but I figure I have at least a year or so to add to it, so I won’t rush!

@Vixel: Good– the more the merrier, as they say! I think it’s okay to not have a complete list of 101 things yet, because I’m sure there’ll be more things you want to conquer over the next couple of years!
