I haven’t won much in my life and I’m not really one for placing a bet, to be honest. Yes, I’ll buy the odd lottery ticket when there’s a rollover and enter sweepstakes at work now & again, but that’s about it. I don’t consider myself a particularly lucky person when it comes to gambling— although I did win a CD player & camera in a raffle when I was about 8 years old and over £200 the one time I stepped into a bingo hall, a few years ago (and it was a great night out!)
The word “bingo” used to conjure up images of purple rinses, false teeth and walking sticks, but in recent years, it’s had a bit of a makeover and you don’t have to be an OAP to join in! Apparently, according to the Bingo Times (yes, that’s a thing), there are lots of celebs playing a spot of bingo, including Vic Reeves, Robbie Williams and Sharon Osbourne, which has perhaps helped to shake off it’s boring image. Online Bingo is very different from traditional bingo, because you don’t have to leave your cosy sofa. Ahhh. I’m up for anything that involves less effort (although shouting “BINGO!” in a massive room full of people is fun, if not slightly daunting.) You can play online from as little as 5p and of course shout bingo to your computer screen, if that is, err, your thing. Online bingo is a bit addictive and you definitely have to set yourself a limit, but there’s a great sense of community in their chatrooms and you can pick up the lingo pretty quickly.
Have you or would you ever play bingo?
