Models have it hard sometimes don’t they? I stumbled across Find Me The Face the other night, where two (apparently top in their field) model scouts were on the look out for new potential lingerie models to join Premier Model Management. They were “ditching the size-zero stereotype” and found some really gorgeous looking girls, but couldn’t take some of them on because of their measurements. One girl was really stunning, but they were concerned because she had a 39 inch thigh. And they suggested another girl was suited to “plus size” modelling because she had hips and some shape to her and you couldn’t see her ribs poking through (okay, so they may not have used those words, but it’s pretty much what they were saying.) And that’s another thing. Plus size! What are people trying to say? That there’s only one accepted size and anything bigger is not allowed to be called a “size” but has to be “plus size”?
I love photography but some people just ruin it for all the credible photographers out there who still have some ethics and morals. If a model makes the clothes / photo work, then take the damn photo. Don’t get your tape measure out.
Phew. Rant over! Here’s what I’ve been doing of late…

…photographing the lovely Fleshrot boyos. And baking biscuits. And decorating them. And applying for jobs. And working all the hours god sends so I can spend spend spend in NYC. And not drinking tea. (Oh tea, I miss you and your sweet, milky warmth. [oo-er]) And right now I’m watching the Brit Awards. How pissed is everyone on it?! I swear Winehouse is off her face. Either that, or she really is that terrible live. Mastered albums all the way!

I’m giving up my milk and two sugars for Lent and replacing it with herbal and fruit teas instead. It was a close toss up between giving up tea or chocolate, but I decided chocolate was simply too hard to deny myself of (which may completely defeat the point of the fast, but it’s something I’m quite willing to ignore.)
I’m not doing it for any religious reason, but instead just in a vain attempt to give myself a kick up the arse with my health. The less milky tea I drink, the less biscuits I have, the more green tea I drink, the more anti-oxidants I have, the healthier I am. Or something…
Goodbye old friend.
